I FOUND IT!!!

The iPod is found! Yesterday when I was in my Craft Room (aka the Crap Room) wrapping a present for a birthday party, I reached for some ribbon in my ribbon bin and there under a spool of ribbon sat my little precious iPod. AHHH! I screamed and yelled and Kurt instantly knew that I found it. I knew that it was somewhere in this house. It probably got placed in the ribbon bin after I went scrapbooking so it could make it's trip in the house. It just made it to the basement and on the shelf...away from where I could find it. I was going to tear apart the craft room next (and all the crap that I took with me scrapbooking that day it went MIA). I am so glad I didn't have to do it. I seriously was so unmotivated to do anything this week, because I didn't have my little reward for doing all my chores. I had to actually listen to the hum of the washer and dryer as I was folding laundry...how 1990 of me. Life is good.

This will also serve as a public apology to Kurt for me letting him think that he somehow misplaced it or felt like he was accused for it's disappearance. I never blamed him. I blamed the little people. Sorry to you too.

For those who care...

My iPod is still missing. It's now at a new level of intrigue as to where it is. I wonder, did it get tossed in the garbage? Did some punk walk into our garage and take it off the fridge (where it often is put after taking out of the car)? I doubt that one, because all the beer was still there. Any kid that's going to take an iPod will also want to steal some beer. My dear sweet sister has offered up her Shuffle for us to use until I find mine. We are heavy users of our iPods here. Kurt is going to give me his (a new fancy one) and he'll use the Shuffle. I actually have had no desire to go to the gym since it's been MIA. What will I do, listen to the radio (gasp!). I just wonder what the heck happened to it. Perhaps I will see it again one day?

My Super Sweet Sixteen

I was flipping channels this morning and Julia caught a glimpse of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen. If you haven't ever watched this show, you should. Now, I wouldn't schedule my day around it, but if it's on, I'll watch it. Basically, these spoiled, rich little 15 year olds get their parents to throw them an all out party for their 16th bday. These parties are always way cooler than pretty much any wedding I've been to, complete with a fancy car in the end. It's so outrageous. Which is probably why I like it. I really didn't know anyone that had a Sweet Sixteen party in high school or anyone that got a super sweet ride when they turned 16 (I take that back, one of my friend's got a Mustang), but for the most part the highlight of our 16th bday was getting our license and going out to dinner at the Red Lobster.

Anyway, Julia was sitting playing and looked up at it and asked me if this was a "Real Princess Show" - I told her sort of and we watched the end of it. It wasn't a racy one like some of them are, so I thought that it was appropriate. She loved watching them dance, the cake, all the girls in their gowns. It was almost better than walking through Macy's Formal Dress section (which is usually the highlight of any mall trip for her). She is such a girly girl. I am so lucky. Now, I have an "excuse" to watch My Super Sweet Sixteen.

We're Already Not Cool

Last night we went to a high school football game. Kurt's cousin's son is a starter for the team and it's fun to watch someone you know. Plus, he has to be the most polite young man I have met in ages. There is just something about a crisp fall night, sitting in a stadium, watching a football game that brings back great memories. Kurt played football in high school and I was a cheerleader. I would have to say that Friday nights were probably my best memories of high school. I am sure that Kurt would say the same.

We sat down right behind the pompom squad and right where Julia could watch the cheerleaders. It was so cute. After half time and the pompom squad came back to their spots, Julia wanted to sit down by them. I could see her, so I let her go. She thought that she was the coolest little kid. She was imitating the cheerleaders and smiling up at the other pompom girls (who thought she was "so cute"). Anyway, Kurt tried to give her some pizza and she told him to "Go Away" - he's already uncool. Kurt kept trying to mess with her, but she kept giving him the hand. It was pretty cute. At least we still have Jimmy...he was totally into the atmosphere and yelling and clapping when everyone else was.

Clay left for Kindergarten!

So, today our neighbor, Clay, went to his first day of Kindergarten. I have known Clay since he was a year and a half old. Julia and Clay have a love hate relationship. Sometimes they discuss their marriage plans or their baby, like it is no big deal. Other times they argue and talk back to each other. Quite frankly, it sounds like a regular marriage. Anyway, Julia wanted to tell Clay in person to "Have Great Day at School", so we trudged over and the kids played before Clay left for the big day on the big yellow monster. He couldn't have been more excited in his matched clothes. Before the Bus rounded the corner, Mom gave him a big hug, as did Julia. It was so sweet. He looked like such a big kid getting on the bus...not even caring that his mom, Ellen, was on the verge of tears. He waved at us when he got on the bus and away he went down the road...onto Kindergarten. Good thing I had on my Giant Sunglasses, because I got a little choked up too. Ellen and I will probably be a mess in 2 years when we send Julia & Kyle off to Kindergarten, her last kid and my first. Who will hold up the 'Pointe while we are breaking down?

90210

So, last night after I watched the coverage of the National Republican Convention, I was about to go to bed and noticed that the light on my DVR was on. Hmmm - what was recording? I totally forgot that I set it to record the NEW 90210. I wasn't expecting to like it at all. Quite frankly, I was expecting to not even finish the first show. I LOVED it. Now, I don't know if I loved it because there are a lot of tie ins to the old 90210 or if I just am bored by what is on TV right now. Regardless, my old friends Kelly and that crazy Brenda...some younger sisters, some old drama...it's all fantastic. It's a little OC-like, but that's okay. The storyline was somewhat impressive, compared to the end of the old 90210...I wasn't expecting much. Ahh, the drama of West Beverly meets the 21st Century, even the Peach Pit is fancy.

This Heat..Fall?

So, today it's like 90 degrees out, no breeze, freaking hot as heck. This is the summer that I hate. I really am a fall girl, but whatever. It will be here soon. It's finally September (I only know this by looking at the calendar - not by the weather), so Kurt hit the cider mill with Jimmy on Monday and got us some Cider and Spice Donuts. I now remember why I married him. He's the best. Parmenters Donuts are the best...superior & unlike any other Cider Mill Donut. It's a shame they are only available for a few months. Although, it's probably a good thing.

So, because it was Hot as you know where today, the kids were stuck inside most of the afternoon. We went to the park for a playdate this morning, but that was about it. It was still too hot. Julia wanted nothing more than to play outside and play with her friends. Some days she wants nothing more than to stay inside and watch TV or play with her Polly Pockets. On those days, i am always telling her - "It's too nice outside to play inside. You are going outside." So, today, she flipped the tables on me. After I told her that she had to stay inside and play today, she said - "But mom, it is such a beautiful day, i shouldn't play inside." So, she does listen to me. How come when i tell her to wash her hands or pick up her stuff, she doesn't hear me?
